Right then, that wraps up the second T20I, where India delivered another impressive performance to seal the series with one match still to play. This victory marks India's 16th consecutive T20I series win at home. With the series secured, we could see some of the bench players getting a chance in the final game. As for Bangladesh, they are still searching for their first win on this tour of India across formats and will be eager to finish on a high, particularly with Mahmudullah set to retire after this series. The third and final T20I will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, October 12th. The first ball will be bowled at 1.30 pm GMT, but make sure to join us well ahead of time for all the exciting build-up to the match. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Nitish Kumar Reddy is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his all-round showing - 74 (34) with the bat and 2 for 23 with the ball. He says that it feels great to contribute to the team and wants to enjoy this moment. Says that he should thank the captain and the coach for giving him the license to play his natural game. Tells that he took his time initially, but after that No Ball everything went his way. Shares that it feels great to play for the Indian team and hopes he can contribute more in future games.

Suryakumar Yadav, the victorious Indian skipper says he wanted a tough situation to see how the middle order performs and he is absolutely pleased with the way they played. Talks about the message to be loud and clear for the players to go out and express themselves and play freely. Mentions that he wanted to try to give all the bowlers a go to see what they had to offer. Says it was Nitish's day and he wanted him to go out and bowl with the new ball.

The captain of Bangladesh, Najmul Hossain Shanto says that they made the same mistakes which they did during the first game and need to improve. Feels that it was a good decision to bowl first and they started well but could not execute their plans afterwards. Reckons that as batters, they need to take responsibility and it is important to believe that once you get in, you can get a big score. Mentions that not picking wickets during the middle phase hurt them.

Time for the presentation ceremony...

Rinku Singh is down for a quick chat. He says he backs himself at tough times to keep things calm and believes in himself. Adds that he has practised a lot to bat the way he does and keeps talking to MS Dhoni for his input which helps. Mentions that his talk with Nitish was just to stitch a partnership and make the most of any bad balls that came their way which all started flowing after that No ball went for a six.

Earlier in the game, considering the dew factor, Najmul Hossain Shanto opted to bowl first. Right from the first over, it was clear that this wasn’t a typical Delhi batting paradise, with inconsistent bounce and balls holding up in the surface. After losing their top three within the Powerplay, a 108-run partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh rescued the hosts from trouble. Nitish started cautiously but shifted gears smoothly as the innings progressed. The Bangladeshi spinners also faltered several times with their lines and lengths during the middle overs, further aiding the duo's recovery. Cameos from Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag propelled India to 221. For Bangladesh, their pacers excelled with Taskin Ahmed being the pick of the bowlers but the spin duo of Mehidy Hasan and Rishad Hossain went for a combined total of 101 runs from their 7 overs.

In most cases, a strong Powerplay is imperative for the chasing side when chasing totals in excess of 200. Unfortunately for the visitors, this did not materialize, as they lost three wickets within the Powerplay. Consequently, they were left playing catch-up for the remainder of their innings. They struggled to build any substantial partnerships as India consistently chipped away at their wickets. Every bowler Suryakumar Yadav turned to, delivered for the side, with seven bowlers used throughout the night, and each one claiming at least one wicket. Bangladesh never found their rhythm in the chase, and with the Delhi surface not being its usual batting-friendly self, the balls stopping and holding up only added to their difficulties.

A comprehensive win for India to put the series to bed! Though they were pushed into a corner early on with the bat, they managed to find a way back and were never under pressure with the ball. A win by 86 runs marks India's biggest win in terms of runs against Bangladesh in T20I cricket. As for Bangladesh, they started well with the ball but will rue the missed opportunity of letting India off the hook after reducing them to 41/3, allowing them to recover and reach a total of 221.

Commentary

We are back with Bangladesh's reply! The umpires are out and so are the players of the Indian team who head out in the field after a final pep talk from skipper Suryakumar Yadav in a huddle. Litton Das and Parvez Hossain Emon are the openers striding out for Bangladesh! It will be Arshdeep Singh to start the proceedings for India with the new ball in hand. Away we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

This isn't the usual Delhi batting paradise, and Bangladesh will need to start strong to have any chance of chasing down this mammoth total. While the dew hasn't settled in yet, if it does, it could pose significant challenges for the Indian bowlers which makes the first 6 overs crucial for both sides. Sit back and enjoy the second essay, which promises to be an exciting one!

Hardik Pandya joined forces with Rinku Singh, and together they unleashed a blistering partnership of 64 runs in just 21 balls, highlighting the carnage at the crease. Amidst the mayhem, Taskin Ahmed stood tall for Bangladesh, breaking the partnership and finishing with exceptional figures of 2 for just 16 runs in his 4 overs. Rinku also notched up a well-deserved half-century before being dismissed. Riyan Parag then stepped in, smashing a few quick boundaries, while Hardik continued to push India past the 200-run mark. However, Rishad Hossain was able to finish well, as India lost 3 wickets for just 8 runs, closing the innings on a dramatic note but with the scoreboard reading 221/9!

At 45/3 after the Powerplay, India found themselves in a precarious position. Nitish Kumar Reddy, starting cautiously, found a reliable ally in Rinku Singh, who began striking boundaries with ease from the moment he arrived at the crease. However, once Nitish found his rhythm, Rinku took a backseat, allowing Nitish the majority of the strike. Nitish went on an aggressive spree, reaching his maiden half-century in just 27 balls. Together, the duo stitched a rapid 108-run partnership, setting the stage for a big finish before Nitish was eventually dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.

A decent end for Bangladesh, reining India in that last over as they wrap their innings at 221/9. After being asked to bat first, India got off to a flying start, capitalizing on the opening over. However, Bangladesh's captain Najmul Hossain Shanto quickly introduced his ace pacer, Taskin Ahmed, who expertly varied his pace and struck with the first breakthrough, dismissing Sanju Samson. Abhishek Sharma showed positive intent and looked to keep the momentum going but couldn't build on his start, falling in the very next over to a fierce delivery from Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Najmul's decision to trust his pace attack paid off again, as Mustafizur Rahman claimed another wicket inside the Powerplay, this time the dangerous Suryakumar Yadav, helping Bangladesh finish the powerplay on a strong note.

A single to end the innings! Rishad offers flight, full and on off, Mayank Yadav reaches out and smears it along the ground to long on and takes a single. An eventful final over. Three wickets and 8 runs off it. India finish with 221 on the board!

19.5W

OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Rishad drops it short and on middle, Arshdeep Singh gets on the back foot quickly for the pull shot and swings a bit early. Gets a top edge that goes straight up beside the pitch on the leg side. The keeper, Litton Das calls for it and takes a safe catch. Washington Sundar yet to face a ball in the last over. Mayank Yadav is the new man in.

19.46

SIX! BOOM! Rishad dishes out a flighted delivery, turning into the left-hander, fuller and on middle, Arshdeep Singh gets down and slog sweeps it to the left of deep mid-wicket for a six.

Arshdeep Singh walks in next!

19.3W

OUT! TAKEN! Not quite the correct option chosen by Varun Chakaravarthy with Washington Sundar at the other end. Bangladesh won't mind one bit. Rishad loops it up and serves it full, on off, Varun Chakaravarthy skips down the track to go back over the bowler's head. Ends up hitting it straight down the throat of long off where Parvez Hossain Emon takes a few steps back and snaffles it.

19.20

Rishad pushes it through, shorter and quicker, on the pads, Varun Chakaravarthy plays all around it and wears it on the pads.

Varun Chakaravarthy walks out to bat at number 9!

19.1W

OUT! CAUGHT! A timely wicket and that surely will help Bangladesh stem some runs towards the end! Rishad Hossain slows it up and keeps it outside off, on a shorter length, Hardik Pandya throws everything at it in an attempt to slash it over on the off side. The ball turns away and goes off the upper half of the bat to deep cover. Mehidy Hasan at the deep is quick across the turf to his left and takes a good running catch to see the back of Hardik Pandya!

19.11wd

WIDE! Comes from over the wicket and bowls it short and wider on off, way outside the tramline. Left alone by Hardik Pandya!

Washington Sundar walks out to bat next! And it will be Rishad Hossain to bowl the final over.

OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Tanzim Hasan Sakib finally gets his man! Tanzim rolls his fingers over the ball and bangs it into the deck, on off, Riyan Parag tries to flat bat it down the ground by staying deep in the crease. He loses his shape and skies it high in the air towards long on where Mahmudullah runs to his left and takes it with ease.

18.56

SIX! This is even bigger! Right in the slot by Tanzim as he misses his mark, on off, Riyan Parag goes deep in his crease and tonks it over long off for six more runs. 18 runs off the over with a ball to go.

18.46

SIX! Riyan picked the bones out of that! Tanzim takes pace off and goes into the wicket, on off, Riyan Parag waits for it and stays low to make the connection. Whips it hard and flat over deep mid-wicket for a six.

18.31

Tanzim nails the yorker now, on middle, Hardik Pandya stabs it down the ground for one.

18.24

FOUR! Not quite from the middle of the bat but Hardik will take it! The 200 comes up for India. This is the first time in T20I cricket that India have reached 200 against Bangladesh. Tanzim goes searching for the yorker but ends up serving a waist-high full toss, on middle, Hardik Pandya gets it high on the bat but manages to smear it wide of deep mid-wicket for a boundary.

18.11

Back-of-the-hand slower delivery by Tanzim first up, full and at the stumps, Riyan Parag chips it back over the bowler's head for a single.

Who will bowl the penultimate over? It will be Tanzim Hasan Sakib to bowl out! He has figures of 3-0-32-1 so far!

17.51

At 119.9 kph by Mustafizur, on a back of a length, Hardik Pandya checks his shot and tucks it in the vacant mid-wicket region for one. After being hit for a six on the first ball, this has been a decent comeback from Mustafizur. Can he finish well?

Drinks break! Bangladesh find themselves right behind the eight ball at the moment with the required rate already touching 15. Wickets at regular intervals have not allowed them to settle into any sort of a rhythm and a lot rests on the shoulders of this pair to get the visitors back into the contest. As for India, they have been disciplined with their lines and lengths and have used their smarts to make run-scoring difficult for the Bangladeshi batters.

Both have been finding boundaries at will and have put pressure right back on the visitors. 8.50

A loud shout for LBW but the umpire remains unmoved! Mahmudullah is pretty convinced and he convinces Najmul Hossain Shanto to go for the review. The impact looked outside off there at first glance. Flicked from the side of the hand by Mahmudullah from over the wicket, full and around off, Nitish Kumar Reddy plants his front leg ahead and goes for the reverse. The ball goes under the bat and brushes Reddy's front pad. There is no bat involved on UltraEdge. Ahmed takes pace off and bangs it into the surface on a back of a length, outside off. Sanju Samson with no foot movement looks to loft it over the infield on the off side but the ball just sticks to the surface and comes onto him slower than he anticipated. He goes through the shot and chips it straight down the throat of Najmul Hossain Shanto at mid off who gobbles it low in front.

All in readiness for the action to begin in front of an expectant full house in Delhi. As is tradition at this venue, the ceremonial bell is rung before the start of play. The two umpires make their way out to the middle followed by Najmul Hossain Shanto and his men. It will be the left-hand right-hand combination of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson to open the innings for India. Bangladesh are starting with spin in the form of Mehidy Hasan. Away we go...

The captain of India, Suryakumar Yadav says that they were looking to bat first anyway. Tells that they had a chat with a couple of members of the ground staff who said there was dew late in the night. Further says that they want to challenge their bowlers with the wet ball. Shares that there is a lot of talent in their side. Adds that as a captain, it is important to stay one step ahead in this format. Opines that this looks like a very good surface. Mentions that they will look to start well and take it from there. Informs that they are unchanged for this game.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, the skipper of Bangladesh says that dew might come in later which is why he wants to bowl first. Adds that the wicket looks good and it has been a high-scoring venue and they will look to do well. On winning their last two games at this ground, he says it gives them a lot of confidence but this is a new day and they will have to give it their all and try to make the most of the first 6 overs. Concludes that they have one change with Shoriful Islam missing out and Tanzim Hasan Sakib coming in for him.

Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Parvez Hossain Emon, Litton Das (WK), Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali, Mehidy Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib (In for Shoriful Islam).

India (Unchanged Playing XI) - Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav.

TOSS - Bangladesh have won the toss and they will BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT - Abhinav Mukund is out in the centre for the pitch analysis. He says the ground is not too big with the square boundaries being 55 meters and 63 meters while the straight boundary is 72 meters. Says that the pitch is hard and looks to be one of those surfaces where 200 might not be enough and could be a nightmare for the bowlers.

For Bangladesh, tonight is about redemption. Their batting struggled in the opener, managing just 127 runs, leaving the bowlers with little to defend. Captain Shanto will need to lead from the front, but a collective effort from the batters is essential if they hope to challenge India’s formidable attack. The spotlight will also be on their most-capped T20I player, Mahmudullah, who is set to retire from the format after this series. The visitors will be hoping to give him a fitting farewell by keeping the series alive and setting up a decider. Will Bangladesh find a way to bounce back, or will India seal the series tonight? Stay tuned for the toss and team news.

In the series opener in Gwalior, India outplayed Bangladesh in all departments. Their new-look squad hit the ground running, and Suryakumar Yadav and his men will look to carry that momentum forward, aiming to close out the series with another commanding performance. With their depth and balance, the hosts seem to have all their bases covered. They are likely to stick with the winning combination unless forced into changes by last-minute injuries, following the mantra - 'If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it'.

Hello and welcome from Delhi, where the Arun Jaitley Stadium sets the stage for the second T20I clash between India and Bangladesh. After suffering a bruising defeat in the series opener, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side will be eager to prove their resilience and force a series decider. For India, a win tonight means sealing the series and extending their dominance at home. The Delhi surface, known for producing high-scoring matches as seen in the Indian T20 League, promises plenty of fireworks and an action-packed contest.

... MATCH DAY ...

The caravan now moves to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the 2nd T20I between India and Bangladesh. After an engrossing Test series that the home side won 2-0 in fantastic fashion, the 1st T20I promised more of an even contest but Bangladesh were thumped by a great mix of youth and experience in the Indian lineup. The Bangla Tigers will be hoping to bounce back quickly in Delhi where we can expect a run-fest if recent matches are to go by and given how much cricket Bangladesh play at home, they aren't quite accustomed to flat pitches and lack a bit of power up the order and at the death to really score big. India on the other hand have no such issue as playing in the Indian T20 League has instilled a sense of fearlessness in the mind of this pretty young side. Talking about the first game, India put Bangladesh into bat on a decent-looking wicket but Arshdeep Singh was at his destructive best, knocking over both the openers to set the tone for the home side. The bowlers controlled the middle phase well enough and Varun Chakaravarthy picked up three wickets in total to make sure that Bangladesh couldn't build a big stand. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan were the only two batters to cross the 20-run mark with the latter really playing a lone hand towards the end. We also got to see spee-demon Mayank Yadav in action and he picked up a wicket on debut as well. The run chase though was a stark contrast to the first innings as India went berserk from the start. The openers were quick off the blocks and then the experienced likes of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya played a couple of quick cameos with the latter scoring 39 off just 16 balls as India chased down a target of 128 runs in just under 12 overs. Expect more aggressive cricket from India as they look to round off the series in Delhi itself and not leave things for the final game. Bangladesh will need to show some aggression of their own, especially with the bat and take India head on if they are to level the series. An engrossing contest is up on the cards, who are you backing?
