New Zealand spinners are finding considerable assistance on this track, which has already seen Mitchell Santner wreak havoc with a match haul of 12 wickets so far—seven in the first innings and five in this one. New Zealand's bowlers have capitalized on the conditions with sharp turn and disciplined lines, leaving India with few scoring opportunities. Yashasvi Jaiswal did put up a fight up the order with his quickfire 77 but apart from him, no Indian was able to put a match-winning impact on the scoreboard for the team so far in the innings.

TEA! India have been outplayed in all three departments till now in the Test match. New Zealand edge closer to victory as India go into the Tea break on Day 3, still 181 runs away with only three wickets remaining. The hosts have been outclassed in all three departments, struggling to match New Zealand’s dominance in this Test. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin remain at the crease, holding onto hopes of extending the innings and taking the game as deep as possible, but it will take an extraordinary effort to shift momentum from here.

In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal came out firing, setting a confident tone for the innings. His intent was palpable against both pacers and spinners, consistently putting the Kiwi bowlers under pressure. Although Rohit Sharma fell cheaply to Mitchell Santner, Jaiswal remained undeterred, continuing to take calculated risks. By the end of the session, India had raced to 81 runs off just 12 overs, scoring at an impressive rate of 6.75 runs per over. This aggressive start has injected much-needed momentum into India's chase and pushed the Kiwis on the back foot.

Earlier, New Zealand began the day with a commanding lead of 301 runs, looking to extend their innings and bat India out of the contest. For the first half-hour, things went their way, with Glenn Phillips and Tom Blundell scoring freely and pushing the lead further. However, Ravindra Jadeja's introduction changed the momentum, as he dismissed Blundell to claim his first wicket of the game. From there, India steadily chipped away, and the visitors managed to add only 57 runs before being bowled out, leaving India with a target of 359.

Well, we had quite an eventful session, didn't we? After a dominant Day 2 with all three sessions going New Zealand's way, India take the honours of the first session on Day 3. India came out firing and while they still have a long road ahead, their aggressive approach has forced New Zealand to rethink their strategies for the sessions to come.
