Pakistan though will be aware of England’s mantra to go hard despite the circumstances but we saw 16 wickets fell on Day 3 with Sajid Khan claiming 7 and 3 wickets to Noman Ali’s name. They both, if bowl in similar manner could play a decisive role to help Pakistan level the series. However, England as told earlier will not shy away from their shots and will go for the glory. England have never chased down such a score in Asia. Can they break the record and seal the series or will we see a comeback from the hosts? Let’s find out. Effectively it’s Day 9 on this Multan pitch and the way demons are performing, we feel the Pakistan’s spinners will have the upper hand but one thing this England team cleared the air is by sending Root after Crawley’s wicket and not a night watchman. For Pakistan, they have been made hard to work for their runs. They'll hope Salman and Shakeel can put up a good stand and take the lead close to the 300-run mark. Anything above 275 will be a tough chase but Pakistan need one good partnership to cross that mark. An interesting session awaits. Stay tuned.

England could have been in a lot better position at the end of this session had they held onto their chances but for now, it is Pakistan who'll feel slightly ahead in the game. The visitors though did do well, especially the pacers. They bowled their heart out, created chances too but they weren't taken. The lead is just over 200 and England will hope they can take some quick wickets after the break and put Pakistan under pressure.

... DAY 3, SESSION 2 ...

Earlier in the session, England relied on Jamie Smith to cut the deficit out but he fell soon in the day to Ali. However, England did got some handy runs from Jack Leach who attempted sweep and reverse sweep very well. His contribution helped England trail by just 75 runs. They came out with spin from both ends and got enough turn to grab three Pakistan wickets. Right then! An eventful first session. It is only going to get worse for Pakistan who have to show a lot of character as we feel England will keep the spin trio in attack for yet another session.

Saim Ayub just doesn't want to leave the crease, he nicks right before Lunch and that means the game hangs in perfect balance with Pakistan stretching their lead to 118 runs but with the loss of three wickets. Shoaib Bashir takes all the wickets. He delivered perfectly throughout the session from one end while Ben Stokes rotated Leach and Root from the other side. Pakistan will be gutted by the loss of Ayub but they still have a healthy lead going into the break.

OUT! LAST BALL BEFORE LUNCH! Saim Ayub falls! Very full and drifting in on middle, spins away enough to grab the outside edge of Ayub who prods to defend, gets an outside edge to gully where Ollie Pope takes it low in front of him.

PITCH REPORT - Bazid Khan is pitchside. He says things started to happen, it started to turn late on Day 2. Mentions the area outside off is key for the bowlers, there is a  lot of developments, the bowlers have run through there. Shares the bowlers will try and pitch there to get more off the surface and get it to turn from the fuller length. Feels if the batters can tackle the initial period, they can bat for longer periods.

England would have loved to enter Day 3 with a couple of wickets more in the bag but we saw the pitch opened up which introduced the spinners to have a crack and spoil England’s superb start. England lost four wickets in three overs and are left with Smith along with tail alongside him. The opening hour will be really crucial. Not just for the day but in the context of the game. If Pakistan cash in early on, they could get a healthy lead but if Smith and the tailenders drive close to the lead. England will have a go on the pitch which has started to deteriorate and try and dominate with the ball later on. A lot to look forward to. Stay tuned.

Hello and welcome to the action of Day 3 between Pakistan and England. By far and without a doubt, Day 2 belonged to Pakistan. Not just because of their healthy first innings score but the way their bowling group gelled in and bowled throughout the day has helped them get into the driving seat at this point of the Test match. However, it wasn’t as smooth initially for them, as the way Duckett treated Pakistani bowlers, it felt like once again we will see England double down the score but credit to the bowlers once again, spinners specially as both Sajid Khan and Noman Ali spun the web around the Englishmen.

Right then, that’s a wrap on Day 2 of this second Test! Pakistan holds the upper hand and will aim to dictate terms on Moving Day. Day 3, on October 17th, promises to be crucial for both sides and is set to deliver more exciting red-ball action. Brydon Carse made an immediate impact right after the Lunch break, striking on the very first ball to break the frustrating partnership, which Jack Leach soon wrapped up, ending Pakistan’s innings at 366. In response, England’s openers came out aggressively, surviving a few close calls to build a solid 73-run stand before Zak Crawley departed. Ollie Pope then settled in alongside Ben Duckett, who continued his attacking approach, bringing up his half-century. The duo saw England through to the session break at 88/1 in just 17 overs.

Earlier, in a thrilling start to Day 2, England made an early impact, dismissing both overnight batters to momentarily take control of the match. But just when the momentum seemed firmly in their grasp, Aamer Jamal and Noman Ali stepped up with a determined, unbeaten 49-run stand. Their dogged resistance not only blunted England’s attack but also swung the pendulum back in Pakistan’s favour frustrating the bowlers and ended the first session on an excitingly balanced note.

The man of the moment, the centurion Ben Duckett is down for a quick chat. He starts off by saying that playing spin was always his strength. Continues that he enjoys opening the innings with Zak Crawley. Adds that his main strategy was to keep the pressure on the bowlers which certainly helped him build a strong figure on the board. Ends up saying that the first session of Day 3, the Moving Day, would be a big one for them and he hopes that his side bowls well in the second inning.
