Commentary

Right then, Mumbai have dominatingly decimated Bengaluru at Wankhede and registered their second win of the season, having a lot of positives at their helm. Bengaluru needs some serious introspection now as their season has gotten more precarious even before halfway with this fifth defeat. But the action in the Indian T20 League 2024 continues on 12th April, Friday, when Lucknow takes on Delhi. That match will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to the game. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Jasprit Bumrah is the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling spell. He begins by saying that he is very happy with the outcome and says that the wicket was sticky for the first ten overs. It was just one of those days where everything went correctly for him. He adds that there would be days when plans won't go as he wants them to and that he prepares accordingly. Further states the T20 bowling is tough and you will take a beating as well on off days. Says that nowadays you can't hope for success but coming well-prepared holds the key. He further says there's no ego in this sport and he does not want to be a one-trick pony and rely just on the yorkers and tries to execute other variations as well. Ends up by saying that everyone in the camp is happy.

The Mumbai skipper, Hardik Pandya is up for a quick chat. He says that it is a wonderful feeling and it is always good to win. Mentions that the manner of the victory was good and it helps to have the extra bowler with the Impact Player. States that the platform was set with the way Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan batted. Adds that the aim then was to finish the game early. States that he is lucky and blessed to have a bowler like Jasprit Bumrah in the side. Further says that Bumrah practices a lot and his experience and confidence help. Tells it is always good to have Suryakumar Yadav and it is tough for the opposition captain to set the field against him. Ends by saying that he has always been a fan of adapting to situations.

The Presentation Ceremony...

Suryakumar Yadav is up for a quick chat for his sensational 52 off just 19 deliveries. He says that it's always good to be back at Wankhede and join the boys. He says he was physically recovering at the NCA but was mentally with them always. He says Ishan and Rohit created a strong foundation to the chase and adds that with dew settling in and them being in a stronger position at the halfway, it was all about playing to boost the net run rate. He states the management has told them to be aggressive and on being asked about Jasprit Bumrah's performance, he says it's a luxury to have such a bowler in the side. Jokingly says that he doesn't face Bumrah in the nets as he either breaks his bat or aims his boots with the pace.

The captain of Bengaluru, Faf du Plessis says that it is a very tough pill to swallow. Mentions that the dew was a big factor. Jokingly says that if he wins the toss somehow in the next few games, who knows, things might change. Credits Mumbai for the way they played and says that his side just did not get enough runs. Tells that it was very tough with the dew settling in. Adds that they tried everything, but nothing worked. Shares that they fought with the bat and not losing wickets at regular intervals were one of the positives for them. Feels that Jasprit Bumrah was the difference, and as a batter, you want to put pressure on him. Further adds that he is so clever with his variations and has so many options. Reckons that they need to push for 220 to have any chance since they do not have too many weapons in the bowling department.

Earlier in the game, Mumbai inserted Bengaluru to bat first. Despite losing Virat Kohli earlier, Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar struck a brilliant partnership and kept the scoreboard ticking with timely boundaries. After a flurry of wickets in the mid-overs, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah's sensational 5-wicket haul, Dinesh Karthik batted against all the odds and ensured that Bengaluru finished on a high with his exceptional 50. In their defense, Bengaluru bowlers were all over the place and leaked runs right, left, and center. With Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav notching up quick fifties along with valuable contributions from Rohit Sharma and Hardik as anchors, Mumbai sailed through the winning line way early.

Bengaluru had enough runs on the board, but once more, they found themselves grappling with their bowling performance, as their ongoing struggle with conceding runs persisted. Despite Reece Topley initially finding some movement off the pitch, they struggled to contain the Mumbai batters. Mohammed Siraj, in particular, continued to struggle with expensive spells, bowling on predictable lines and lengths. But not only him, Glenn Maxwell and Vyshak too, were expensive and wayward in their lines and lengths. Akash Deep struck first for them as he dismissed Ishan Kishan, but they certainly failed to control the damage wreaked by the openers. Will Jacks got rid of Rohit but they just couldn't recover from the onslaught truly. Despite having a decently experienced bowling unit, not a single bowler looked in a position to create any inroad at all. They failed to keep the Mumbai batters quiet and as a result, they encountered a big loss.

In their pursuit of a challenging target of 197 runs, Mumbai's batters launched the rampage from the get-go, led by Ishan Kishan who attacked aggressively. Displaying impeccable timing, he effortlessly dispatched the ball to the boundary ropes and over them with precision. It eased off the pressure certainly from Rohit Sharma and allowed him to settle. But he, too, played a fine anchor by taking his chances. Mumbai navigated through the Powerplay without losing any wickets, establishing a strong momentum early on. Ishan Kishan reached his fifty in a mere 23 deliveries in no time. They kept finding boundaries in every over showing no mercy whatsoever. Ishan departed on 69 but made sure that the required rate remained under control. After Rohit's departure on 38 runs, Suryakumar Yadav joined the party and took off showing no mercy on the bowlers whatsoever, hoisting the ball into the stands with absolute ease and comfort. He notched up a 17-ball 50 and further made things easier for Mumbai in the chase. Hardik Pandya also struck three sixes and they cruised to the victory easily.

Phew, Mumbai's batters decimated the Bengaluru bowlers and asserted their dominance with authority with 4.3 overs remaining as they smashed the Bengaluru bowlers to all the corners of the park. This convincing victory marks Mumbai's second win of the season, undoubtedly bolstering their net run rate significantly. Conversely, Bengaluru find themselves in a dire situation with their fifth defeat in this edition. Their struggle to defend targets persists, leaving them searching for answers to rectify their shortcomings.

SIX! BANG! WHAT. A. SHOT. Hardik Pandya finishes it off with a cracking shot! Mumbai have done it a canter here as they get over the line with more than 4 overs to spare, chasing 197. Akash Deep stays around the wicket and tries to aim it in the blockhole. Misses the yorker by a bit, around off, it is enough for Hardik Pandya to get underneath it and he lets his bottom hand do the rest. Stays deep in the crease and tonks it into the stands towards the deep extra cover fence for a biggie.

15.21

Nails the yorker this time, on off, Tilak Varma jams it out past the bowler and takes a single.

OUT! TAKEN! Suryakumar Yadav picks out the man in the deep to perfection! The crowd rise to applaud what has been an extraordinary knock from Suryakumar. Goes searching for the yorker and ends up serving a waist-high full toss, outside off, Suryakumar Yadav shimmies down the track and reaches out to slap it through the off side. Ends up hitting it flat and straight down the throat of Mahipal Lomror at deep point who takes it near his face.

Is that a No Ball? The Umpire checks whether the trajectory of the ball is above the waist height. Suryakumar Yadav is already walking to the dugout. The side-on replay comes up and shows that the ball is below the waist and calls it as a fair delivery. OUT!

Commentary

We are back for Mumbai's reply. Bengaluru are in a huddle near the ropes before they disperse and take their respective field positions. The crowd roars as the two Mumbai openers, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan stride out to the centre. Reece Topley will start with the new ball for Bengaluru. He is starting with a slip in place. Off we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, Bengaluru have momentum with them courtesy of the strong finish with the bat. They will be hoping to take this momentum into the bowling effort in search of early inroads. We saw that the ball was sliding onto the bat nicely towards the back end of the Bengaluru inning and it seems to have gotten easier to bat. Mumbai have the firepower to gun down this total. Can the Mumbai batters rise to the challenge? Back in a bit to find out.

The man of the moment, Jasprit Bumrah is up for a flash interview as he now becomes the leading wicket-taker in the year's Indian T20 League. He begins by saying that it was a good day with the ball and one of those where mostly what he was executing was working dramatically for him. Says the wicket was a little sticky in nature and he was looking for variations as his options. Says when he saw the first over where the ball gripped a bit for Nabi, he realised that the wicket might not be a flat one and he kept this in mind and bowled to his strengths.

On the other hand, Mumbai will be slightly disappointed that they let Bengaluru go past 190. As he always does, Jasprit Bumrah set the tone for them with the big wicket of Virat Kohli in his first over. Akash Madhwal too struck in his first over, ensuring a favourable Powerplay for Mumbai. However, during the middle phase, Mumbai's bowlers allowed Bengaluru's batters to release the pressure, conceding boundaries every now and then. Gerald Coetzee provided Mumbai with a crucial breakthrough upon his return to the attack, while Shreyas Gopal outfoxed Glenn Maxwell with a well-disguised googly. Just when Bengaluru seemed to be gaining momentum, Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with four wickets off his remaining two overs. However, Akash Madhwal could not execute the final over well and was taken to the cleaners by Dinesh Karthik. Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the show, finishing with figures of 5 for 21 from his four overs. He became the first bowler in the Indian T20 League to take a five-wicket haul against Bengaluru.

A late flourish from Dinesh Karthik has taken Bengaluru past 195! 19 runs came off the final over that has taken the visitors to 196. After being put into bat, Bengaluru faced an early setback with the dismissal of Virat Kohli. Making his debut in the Indian T20 League, Will Jacks showed promise with a couple of early boundaries but couldn't capitalize on his start. However, Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar joined forces to initiate a solid recovery for the visitors, forging an impressive 82-run partnership. Both batters found the boundary consistently, with Patidar reaching his fifty before falling shortly after. Despite losing Patidar, du Plessis continued to anchor the innings. Although the momentum was briefly hampered by the quick loss of two wickets, Dinesh Karthik contributed with valuable boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking for Bengaluru. The departure of Faf triggered a collapse, resulting in Karthik losing partners one after the other. Despite wickets falling around him, Karthik kept going and played a real blinder, toying with the field and notched up his fifty off just 22 balls to propel his side to 196.

A single to end the first innings but a really strong finish from Bengaluru, courtesy of Dinesh Karthik's breathless cameo, who stepped up in time when the chips were down for Bengaluru. Around the wicket on a fuller length, Dinesh Karthik swings hard at it but fails to get the timing correct on it and hits it towards deep mid-wicket for just a single. But an excellent finish from the veteran as Bengaluru finish high on 196.

19.54

FOUR! EXCEPTIONAL BATTING FROM DK! Brilliant 50 from him and Bengaluru inch closer to 200 now! Such a great timer of the cricket ball he is. Full-length delivery outside off, Dinesh Karthik shuffles across off a bit and slams it past the covers for a boundary. And this late flourish from Karthik just might have brought Bengaluru back alive in this game.

19.46

SIX! What sheer timing on this one! Bowls a shortish delivery on the bodyline, Dinesh Karthik gets in position quickly as he reads the length early. He pulls it well over the deep backward square leg for a brilliant six.

19.36

SIX! He is making a mockery of field placings! Outside off, on a fuller length, Dinesh Karthik bends low and slices it over deep backward point, and the ball lands just on the boundary cushions.

19.31wd

WIDE! Full and outside off. Wide given as it has passed well beyond the tramline.

19.20

Bowls a full toss near the waist height around off, DK lifts it for a big heave but gets no wood on it on the timing and mistimes it to long on. He decides to abort the single. Dinesh Karthik sends it upstairs for a No Ball as he believes it has gone above his waist height. The review shows that the ball is marginally below his waist.

Full and aiming the stumps, Akash Deep swings hard at it and gets a thickish inside edge toward deep square leg for one.

SIX! He just loves to target that area! A crucial maximum for Bengaluru. Misses his length marginally on off and lands it full, right in the hitting zone. Dinesh Karthik clears his front foot and bends a bit low before clearing the deep cover fence for a maximum. The Umpire checks whether it's a boundary or a six and eventually affirms it as a six as the ball has clearly touched the boundary cushion on the full.

Missed the hat-trick yet again! Yorker on the middle, Akash Deep squeezes it out to deep square leg for a single.

Akash Deep is the new man in.

OUT! TAKEN! A FIFER FOR BUMRAH AT WANKHEDE! What a champion of a bowler he is! Sheer display of pace with absolute precision from this man. Again pace on and short on the bodyline, Vijaykumar Vyshak pulls it but gets no timing on it at all and the ball lands straight into the safe hands of Mohammad Nabi at mid off.

Vijaykumar Vyshak is in at number 9.

18.3W

OUT! TAKEN! Wicket number 4 for Jasprit Bumrah and what an excellent spell this has been from him! Bangs a well-executed bumper, and cramps the southpaw for room with sheer pace as well. Saurav Chauhan pulls it too close to the body and gets no real power on the shot. The ball lobs up and Akash Madhwal at mid-wicket takes a regulation grab at chest level.

18.22

In the air...safe again! Full in length around off, Saurav Chauhan clears the mid off region uppishly with no real timing on it. It lands at long off where the fielder from mid off chases the ball. A couple taken in the meantime.

A perfect execution of short-pitched bounce from Bumrah. On the bodyline with pace on, Saurav Chauhan swivels to pull but only meets thin air and the ball climbs back to the keeper.

SIX! DK says Thank You! Around the wicket on a shortish length, on the leg stump line, Dinesh Karthik anticipates the length quite early and pulls it using the pace over the deep backward square leg fence for half a dozen. He is playing a crucial cameo for Bengaluru. He moves into his 30s now. 14 runs from it.

17.51

In the air...just short! Slants it across off on a length, Saurav Chauhan mistimes his lofted shot and slices it over covers. It lands just ahead on a bounce where the fielder in the deep picks it up. A single taken.

OUT! LBW! A huge confident shout for LBW and the umpire raises his finger. Mahipal Lomror goes upstairs and challenges the umpire's decision. Bumrah steams in from around the wicket and tries to nail a yorker but lands it a bit fuller in length on the middle and leg, Mahipal Lomror is a bit late to bring his bat down to work it away to the leg side and the ball pings his front pad. The UltraEdge comes up and shows a flat line as the ball passes through the bat. Ball Tracker confirms that the Impact is in-line and the ball is hitting the wickets on the Umpire's call. What a game-changing over this has been from Jasprit Bumrah, yet again to the rescue and he is on a Hat-Trick here.

Mahipal Lomror makes his way out to the centre.

16.4W

OUT! TAKEN! An absolute blinder of a catch from Tim David and Bumrah once again provides a much needed breakthrough for Mumbai. A dipping full toss angling in on the middle, Faf du Plessis lofts it off the bottom half of the bat towards Tim David who is patrolling the long on boundary. He runs forward and keeps his eyes on the ball before taking an absolute ripper of a catch on the slide. The Bengaluru skipper walks back to the hut now. A timely scalp from Bumrah.

16.31

Full toss, outside off, Dinesh Karthik whips it to long on for one.

16.21b

Wide of off, just inside the tramline, Faf reaches out to drive it away through the covers but it whispers his outside edge before Ishan Kishan collects it behind the wickets. The Umpires go upstairs for a clean catch just to ensure Kishan had his fingers underneath the ball. However, the UltraEdge shows no bat is involved and Not Out comes up on the giant screen. A bye taken.

16.12

Bowls it on the stump line and dishes a full delivery, Faf du Plessis mistimes his shot over the bowler's head towards widish long on for a couple. Tim David is quick to reach to the ball and throws it back.

EDGED AND FOUR! Guns outside off on a fuller length, Dinesh Karthik throws his bat at it with strong bottom hand. It takes the thickish outside edge of the willow and steams past the chasing deep third fielder for a boundary. A very expensive over from Akash Madhwal as he concedes 19 from it and the run rate is inflated to leaps.

15.61wd

WIDE! Bowls it way outside off and beyond the tramline. Wide given.

15.54

FOUR! Too good from Dinesh Karthik! Takes the pace a bit off from the ball and keeps the line outside off, Dinesh Karthik again employs the same shot and guides it between the diving Ishan Kishan and the short third fielder for a boundary. Quite unsure of what is Madhwal trying to do here. He is being too predictable to bowl there but Dinesh Karthik gets full marks for it.

15.44

FOUR! This time he gets away with it and Madhwal is being a bit too predictable now! Dishes out another one just ahead of the bat, Dinesh Karthik readies again for a reverse scoop and successfully gets enough bat on it over the short third fielder for a boundary.

15.30

Again chases the ball from outside off and tries to reverse scoop it away. The ball is too low to be hit and it takes the inside edge of the bat and rolls back to the bowler.

15.24

FOUR! Clever, extremely clever from DK! A full toss outside off, Dinesh Karthik goes deep in his crease and reverse scoops it over short third for a boundary. That's some kind of an innovative shot from Dinesh Karthik.

15.11

Yorks it outside off, Faf du Plessis brings his bat down in time and squeezes it to extra covers for a single.

15.11wd

WIDE! Sprays it way beyond the tramline and the Umpire signals for a Wide. Mumbai have gone upstairs against the on-field decision. The split-screen shows that the ball is just passing outside the line. Mumbai have burnt both their reviews now.

Not a bad first outing of the season with the ball for Shreyas Gopal, he finishes with figures of 4-0-32-1.

14.50

On a nagging length, slower through the air, outside off, Dinesh Karthik reaches out to play the sweep but misses as the ball pings him on the front pad outside the line of the off stump.

In the air...but it lands short! Drags his length back and targets the stumps, Faf du Plessis backs away and shapes up to clear long off. He does not get the desired connection and it lands in front of long off. Mohammad Nabi on the fence opts to hang back and save the boundary rather than going for the catch. They cross.

14.36

13.51

FIFTY for Faf du Plessis! First half-century of the season for the Bengaluru skipper and it has come just at the right time in a crunch game. Just a raise of the bat from Faf as he knows the job is far from over yet. Shepherd goes into the wicket and it is slower as well, on off and middle, Faf du Plessis waits on it and pulls it in front of square on the leg side for a single.

13.44

FOUR! Nicely done! Romario Shepherd goes full and bowls it at pace, outside off, Faf du Plessis clears his front leg and stays low to make the connection. Carves it over extra cover and moves to 49 with this boundary.

13.21

Executes the yorker, on middle and leg, Faf du Plessis gets his bat out in front of the pads and works it to deep backward square leg for one.

13.11

Shepherd bowls it full, on off, Dinesh Karthik clips it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.

Strategic Break! Time for another breather here. Bengaluru were looking extremely aggressive with Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar stitching up an aggressive partnership where Patidar did most of the damage with the bat and scored a quickfire half-century. But, after his dismissal, Bengaluru have lost Glenn Maxwell on a duck, who again failed to put on a show. While Faf du Plessis is still out there unbeaten along with Dinesh Karthik, they would definitely eye to score hefty from here and go big in the slog overs. Mumbai would be aiming to get a couple of more scalps to pull the score a bit. Romario Shepherd is back into the attack.

A confident appeal for LBW but the umpire shakes his head. There was glove involved and in the end, it proved to be a wise decision for Mumbai not to go for the review. Sliding on, on a nagging length, on middle and leg, Dinesh Karthik pulls out the reverse sweep but fails to get any bat on this one. Luckily for him, the ball brushes his gloves before hitting the pads.

Dinesh Karthik is in at number 6. A bit of a halt as Gerald Coetzee is on the ground and the physio is out to treat him in no time. Several Mumbai players surround him while he gets hydrated. He is looking a bit uncomfortable due to the humidity out there.

We are all set for this high-octane clash to begin! The two Umpires stroll out to the middle. Mumbai players are seen in the last-minute huddle before dispersing out to their respective fielding positions. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis are the two openers for Bengaluru. Mumbai are going with spin upfront as Mohammad Nabi has been tossed up the new ball. Let's play...

The captain of Bengaluru, Faf du Plessis says that they have tried hard to change a few things around. Adds that they have decided to give new guys opportunities and bring fresh energy. Mentions that Virat Kohli has been excellent for them but the frustrating thing for them is that they can't look at the opposition and say that they outplayed us. Shares that they want the players to be hungry and stay motivated. Further adds that in T20 cricket, things can change quickly and they are looking for another opportunity. Tells that they would have fielded first as well and it looks like a good deck and hopes that they can put Mumbai under pressure right from the start. Informs that Will Jacks comes in and he will bat at number 3. Ends by saying that Akash Deep, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Mahipal Lomror also come into the side.

The skipper of Mumbai, Hardik Pandya says that they will bowl first. He says that it is a similar track and keeping the weather in mind, they are going to chase. States the last couple of days, there was a bit of dew so chasing is a good option. Adds that the group is quite positive and they aim to play every game from the start and this game is no different. Adds that they need to make sure to build early pressure and take the game forward from there. Informs that Shreyas Gopal comes in place of Piyush Chawla.

TOSS - The coin toss lands in the favour of Hardik Pandya and Mumbai have opted to BOWL first.

JUST IN - Live visuals show Virat Kohli handing Will Jacks his maiden cap for Bengaluru. It will be interesting to see who will make way for the English all-rounder. Also, Mumbai's Vishnu Vinod has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian T20 League season due to an injury to his left forearm. Harvik Desai, the wicket-keeper batter from Saurashtra, has been named as Vinod's replacement.

PITCH REPORT - Sanjay Manjrekar and Michael Clarke are at the 22 yards. Manjrekar starts by saying that it's a red soil pitch, and one boundary to the leg side is 59 metres and the other is 65 meters. Reckons that it is a nightmare for the spinners, and 200 might be the par score. Clarke joins him and says that it's a batting paradise without any doubt, and he adds that both teams would play aggressive cricket against the new ball inside the Powerplay. Manjrekar then states that while chasing, teams have won around 60 percent of the games. Clarke then says it is a no-brainer to bowl first. Also says that if Bengaluru needs to win, Virat Kohli needs to score big.

Fighting out of the red corner, Faf du Plessis' Bengaluru find themselves in a challenging position, occupying the second-from-bottom spot in the standings with just one win from five matches. The team has struggled, particularly against Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium, managing to secure victory in only 3 out of 10 encounters. Virat Kohli has done the heavy lifting without much support from the rest of the batting unit. If Bengaluru are to get their campaign on track, Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, and Glenn Maxwell will have to fire and fire quickly. With the bowling unit also underperforming, the onus lies on Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley, and Yash Dayal to elevate their game against a strong Mumbai batting unit. With both teams desperate for a turnaround in their fortunes, expect nothing short of fireworks in this highly anticipated encounter. Stick around for the toss and team news.

In the blue corner stand Mumbai, led by Hardik Pandya, who unfortunately have a reputation for being slow starters in every season of the Indian T20 League. The start of the 17th edition has been no different for the five-time champions, who started the campaign with three consecutive defeats before getting off the mark against Delhi in the last outing. Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Ishan Kishan have all struggled to convert their starts into substantial scores, making it imperative for one of them to turn it into a big score. The return of Suryakumar Yadav provides a significant boost to Mumbai's batting as they aim to rejuvenate their campaign. Hardik Pandya, who hasn't quite lived up to expectations with both bat and ball, will be eager to lead from the front in this crucial encounter. Jasprit Bumrah has led the way with the ball, with Gerald Coetzee and Akash Madhwal complementing him well at times.

Hello and a warm welcome, folks! The iconic Wankhede Stadium is set to host a showdown between two powerhouses, Mumbai and Bengaluru, in match number 25 of the 2024 Indian T20 League. While both teams haven't quite met the expectations of their fans thus far, and despite them languishing in the bottom half of the table, the sheer star power on display suggests that this match is bound to be a box-office spectacle.

... MATCH DAY ...

A tantalising spectacle awaits in match number 25 of the 2024 Indian T20 League as Mumbai take on Bengaluru at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Both teams find themselves at a pivotal juncture, eager to reverse their fortunes. Mumbai, the formidable five-time champions, broke their streak of three losses with a resolute victory and now seek to harness that momentum to climb up the ladder. Against Delhi, their collective batting prowess orchestrated a commanding total of 234, complemented by a disciplined bowling effort. Though Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma have faltered in capitalising on starts, their aggression during the Powerplay sets a promising tempo. Upon his return, Suryakumar Yadav faced a setback, being dismissed for a two-ball duck. However, he will be eager to put that game behind him and hit the ground running in upcoming matches. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma have flashed moments of brilliance, but the onus of accelerating the scoring will rest on Tim David and Romario Shepherd in the lower order. Jasprit Bumrah has spearheaded the pace attack admirably, standing out as a class apart for Mumbai. While Gerald Coetzee and Akash Madhwal have provided valuable support, Mumbai anticipate a stronger showing from their premier leg-spinner, Piyush Chawla. Conversely, Bengaluru are grappling with a disheartening three-match losing streak, prompting urgency in their quest for redemption. In their recent clash against Rajasthan, a magnificent century from Virat Kohli propelled Bengaluru to a total of 183. However, it was not enough as Rajasthan showcased their batting prowess and breezed past them. Despite Kohli's heroics, Bengaluru's supporting cast has faltered, leaving the burden squarely on his shoulders. Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Rajat Patidar have struggled to make an impact, leaving Bengaluru languishing in the standings. While left-arm seamer Yash Dayal showcased promise in the initial encounters, his form has dwindled in subsequent matches. Mohammed Siraj, too, has failed to make a notable impact thus far. Bengaluru have Lockie Ferguson and Tom Curran in their ranks to bolster the support for Reece Topley, who has been decent in the two matches he has featured in. Furthermore, Bengaluru's spin department has been particularly problematic, with Mayank Dagar managing to secure just one wicket in the last five outings. In a bid to address this issue, Bengaluru might contemplate turning to the experienced Karn Sharma to alleviate their spin-bowling woes. While Bengaluru have historically dominated with four wins in the last five meetings, Mumbai enter the clash with momentum on their side following a recent victory. Who are you rooting for in this blockbuster clash?
